Frozen Party

Frozen Party

I had the pleasure of seeing the movie Frozen a few weeks ago.  I was lucky that it was still in theaters and I could see it on the BIG SCREEN! A sing-along version of the film came out recently and if anyone needs an idea for a small birthday party taking your daughter and a few friends to the movies is always a special treat!  By now you can purchase the DVD and see it as often as you like.

The movie was absolutely darling. I looooved the music! It was magnificently done and there could not have been a better duo than Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel to sing the magical lyrics by the Lopez husband and wife team. The lyrics that stuck with me in the days since I have seen the movie are.

Cut through the heart, cold and clear
Strike for love and strike for fear
There's beauty and there's danger here
Split the ice apart
Beware the frozen heart
 ~The Frozen Heart

For the first time in forever
I'm getting what I'm dreaming of
A chance to change my lonely world
A chance to find true love

I know it all ends tomorrow,
So it has to be today
'Cause for the first time in forever
For the first time in forever
Nothing's in my way!
~For the First Time in Forever

The lyrics are very relatable and are good advice for people of all ages!

The animation was spectacular and I enjoyed watching the story unfold. I loved the relationship of the two sisters Elsa and Anna. I ached for how lonely each one was and just wanted them to be there for one another. It had all the elements of a classic Disney story. I knew it would turn out the way it should in the end. I found myself being afraid of the big abominable snowman and I was completely surprised that Hans turned out to be the villain. They did not give the slightest clue that he would be so devious, tricky, tricky Disney.

The innocence of Olaf melted my heart (no pun intended). His outlook on life was endearing and reminds me of that of a child’s. He was willing to melt if it meant helping Anna, he was a true friend and we all need someone like Olaf in our lives. I was so pleased at the end when Elsa created a snow cloud to follow him around so that he could be a snowman all year long.

The movie was loosely based on Hans Christian Anderson’s The Snow Queen which I hate to admit, I saw The Snow Queen at the drive-in with my parents when I was a young girl. I remember being terrified of the Snow Queen who was the villain in the story and I did not like the movie at all. I prefer the Disney version so much more! Way to go Disney, thank you for a new movie to love!

For those seeking to throw a Frozen themed party I have made the cutest, little glittery snowflake hair swirls in honor of the movie. They come in white, ivory, lavender, or ice blue. The shapes vary in the white glitter sets.  The colored sets are all one design.  A set of snowflake hair swirls would be the perfect party favor at a little girl’s birthday party. The hair swirls can be worn in braids similar to those worn by Elsa and Anna in the movie or in any up do.  The snowflakes would also look lovely in a flower girls hair in a winter wedding. Girls aged 3-99 can wear them; I like to wear them myself. They are easy to use and can add elegance to any outfit for a fancy occasion or be worn with a casual outfit as well.

The hair swirls are available for purchase on my website or on Etsy.  The links are below.  Check out the pictures as well and go see Frozen, if you haven’t already.  It is so worth it!

Here are a few reviews from people who have already purchased the snowflake hair swirls:

“I love these! They aren’t too big or too small, just the right size.  I got them for my daughter so I could do her hair “like Elsa” from Frozen.  They were perfect for that and we can use them for many other occasions going into the future.  I am so glad I found them.”

“These are perfect for my daughter’s hair and will make her Queen Elsa costume look fantastic.”

“Beautiful and easy to use! Very quick delivery too!”

“Super cute hair swirls.  Thank you!”

Everybody Loves a Party

Everybody loves a party.  Why not love a party?  They are fun.  You get to dress up.  Sometimes you get to wear something pretty in your hair.  You get to celebrate something or someone.  You get to be with family and friends.  There are decorations and food and drinks and usually lots of laughter.  Sometimes there is music and presents.  A party can have a theme, it can be a wedding, a birthday, a reunion, or a costume ball.

I have the perfect hair accessory to wear to a party.  They are called hair swirls.   They are so easy to wear and so elegant to wear. You just twist them into your hair and a lovely ornament(a pearl, a flower, a rhinestone, or fancy sparkling bead) floats in your hair.  When you are finished wearing them you just twist them in the opposite direction and they will come right out. You can find these unique hair accessories at www.hairswirls1.com which is my Etsy site. They are wonderful for proms, wedding parties, ballerinas, ballroom dancers, pageant girls and ice skaters. The sparkling aqua blue flowers would be perfect for a classy party.   The pink starfish would be amazing at a beach party and the white glitter snowflakes would be wonderful for a winter wedding party.  Check out my website for lots more designs and colors to match your outfit at www.hairswirls.com
